i don't reccomend using a scrub when you have active zits. i find that it really makes the zit scar or irritates a zit. but i have very pigmentation/scarring prone skin. what i really found effective is using a chemical exfoliant. i found the alpha hydrox AHA souffle with 12% glycolic acid. i used this nightly with a GREAT sunscreen during the day. i love the alpha hydrox because it's cheap and very effective. it got rid of hyper-pigmentation much faster and really helped stop zits from surfacing (pity i don't have it on me). i find that this way i got an exfoliating effect too. i added a physical exfoliant when the blemishes had were no longer inflamed and wouldn't get more irritated either. if you like, you could try the l'oreal microderm abrasion kit which i really liked. but again, i'm not a huge fan of physical exfoliants on the face but that's just my preference/experience.

for acne on the back, what i found worked was to use a face wash on the back that contained salicylic acid. i would also recommend exfoliating and treating with a moisturizer with salicylic acid. this combination worked well for me. also, try to make sure your exfoliant isn't too greasy/oily. that seemed to cause my problems.

Could you suggest a really good face scrub for zits and blemishes, I think I have combination skin, but more on the oily side.

Also sorry for TMI, but I have recently started breaking out in zits on my back as well. Are you aware of anything that works on breakouts on the back?
