Update and Some Serious Love for Maybelline Falsies Mascara

Just an update on why I've been gone without a word. I got some bad news a few weeks after te emergency room visit and am recovering from a procedure after that. It's all good though. So I'm back, with stuff to fill your day.

My love for mascara is almost on par with my love for blush. And in all honestly, I always fall for the ads no matter how many lawsuits pop up against cosmetic companies. I also have serious commitment phobia (most likely) or my mascara clumps up too much after two months use (probably psychological, I am a wild child in the make-up world). I bought Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies mascara. It is by far the best mascara I have found at the drugstore, bar none.

I have tried almost all mascaras that popped up in the drugstore, bemoaned the loss of my beloved L'Oreal Panoramic Curl mascara (moment of silence), and fallen for the Lash Blast hype. I never thought I could love a mascara the way I do The Falsies.

The problem with volumizing mascaras is that they tend to be too clumpy or don't stand out too much and leave me indifferent. This one however made me stare at my lashes on every reflective surface I could find. And I caught myself fluttering my lashes in an attempt to seem bambi-esque, which prompted a friend to recommend me her opthamologist as she feared I might be coming down with a case of pink eye. However, the mascara did take my otherwise of-normal-length-and-volume lashes and turn them into a thick black fringe.

The brush doesn't seem to exceptional and I was a tad skeptical on whether it would do much, however, it all turned out better than I could have fathomed. The mascara also gave me decent length although it was termed volumizing and the overall look is just very lush and thick. Unlike other volumizing mascaras, The Falsies mascara didn't flake on me after a 12 hour day. This wasn't just a freak incident and it consistenly performed well and made my lashes look great without any flaking at the end of the day.

If you're looking for drmaatic looking lashes with a good amount of lengthening, I'd say give this one a try. I can't complain and for now, it is my favourite mascara.

Hi Anu,

I too, am highly upset that I can no longer get my Panoramic Curl from L'Oreal (because of the length). My second fav is BAD Gal Lashes by Benefit (because of how it separates, but not waterproof). You said that Mabelline Falsies gave you decent length. How does Mabelline Falsies compare to the length by Panoramic, longer, the same, shorter?

Hi summer:
glad you like the blog.

Hi lisabellydancer:
Personally, I feel like Panoramic curl gave me more length and was just such a good mascara (sniff :() but this gives me amazingly thick, luscious lashes. I wouldn't say lengthening is its primary goal, but it's decent. Not the best, but not too bad either.

So sorry to hear that you've been in hospital! Hope you are feeling much, much better now :)
On an aside, how does the Volum' Express Falsies compare to the Volum'Express? are they essentially the same product? Thanks!
