Enhancing Brown Eyes Look

I am on this binge of making brown eyes look bambi-esque. So, in the name of all desi-kind, I put down the kohl pencil and used soft brown shades on the eyes to give it depth. And for those of you who wondered about my love for the LORAC highlighter (angels will sing when you open the compact) and if I really was as obsessed with it as I stated, I used it in this look (and had to force myself to put it down. two victories in one look!). I hope you like it.

Make-up Used:

  • MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Naturals in medium/dark
  • Chanel long lasting concealor in Beige Santal
  • LORAC Perfectly Lit Oil-Free highlighter in Radiant
  • Nars Casino bronzer
  • Nars Orgasm
  • Chanel eyeshadow in Cinnamon
  • Urban Decay eyeshadow in Secret Service
  • Bobbi Brown Espresso Ink gel liner
  • Maybelline Falsies mascara
  • Dior Rose Decollete lipstick
  • Bare Escentuals Buxom lipgloss in Sandy

Tools Used:

  • MAC 182 brush
  • MAC 109 brush
  • MAC 239 brush
  • MAC 217 brush
  • MAC 222 brush
  • MAC 214
  • Rock and Republic angled eyeliner brush
  • Smashbox fan brush

Step 1:
Buff the mineralize skinfinish with the mAC 109 brush into your skin to create an even platform. I like to keep the powder light and allow the natural skin to show through.

Step 2:
Dot the Beige Santal concealor on the inner corner of the eyes and blend out with the MAC 217.

Step 3:
If you'd like to use a primer, which I was too lazy to use, pat it on your lids. Then, pat on the Cinnamon eyeshadow with the MAC 239 brush and blend outwards with the MAC 222 brush right above the crease and into the brow bone.

Step 4:
Use the MAC 214 to line your lower lash line with the Urban Decay Secret Service eyeshadow. Keep it as close to the lash line as possible and keep the line thin.

Step 5:
Carefully line your top lid, starting at the very inner corner. Keep the line as close to the lash line as possible, again. As you get to the outer third of the lid, make the line thicker. Extend the liner past the outer corner to make a thin, wispy flick.

Step 6:
Apply the bronzer with the MAC 109 brush the way you would a blush: on the apple of the cheeks and blend outward towards the temple.

Step 7:
Smile and apply Nars Orgasm on the apple of the cheeks with the MAC 109 brush and blend into the bronzer. Do not extend the blush all the way to the temple and keep it primarily on the apple of the cheeks, and keep the blush on the subtle side.

Step 8:
Dust the LORAC Radiant highlighter with the Smashbox fan brush on the brow bone, blending it slightly into the shadow, onto the top of the cheekbones, and on the cupid's bow.

Step 9:
Apply lots of mascara on top and bottom lashes.

Step 10:
Fill in lips with the Dior Rose Decollete and finish with the Sandy lipgloss.

Awesome... I'm new to the blog, fellow NC45 and I've been looking around for a good bronzer. Will definitely check out Nars Casino, but I've temporarily placed myself on a buying-ban for the rest of the summer.

Great blog.

Hi Anu,

This look is absolutely beautiful. It is very elegant and office appropriate - which is what I like :-)
I have a request - Can you please list 5 peachy-brown nude lipsticks which would look great on MAC NC42 skin tone?

I love this!

I have a huge favor to ask too! Do you think you could show the swatches of color next to the names of the products? I usually have two windows open when I read your blog. One to look at the actual products so I can get a visual in my head of what's going on. Having the color right next to the thingammybobjig would be super helpful (although probably time consuming for you)

I loved this look and really want to try out the products you recommended. BTW you are SO beautiful. Your features are quite extraordinary - I'm not sure which are prettier, your nose, eyes, lips or skin! I second the above request, could you please share your skincare (and diet?) regime? Thanks so much x
