Using the Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge Part 1
Labels: Tutorial 7 commentsHere is the promised tutorial on using the Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge. Excuse the stains on mine. No matter what I do, the stains don't ever go out.
Step 1:
Dot foundation on your face. I like to do this because I find that I use less product than if I were to put it ont he back of my hand and then transfer it to my face with a brush or sponge.
Step 2:
Bounce the round side of the blending sponge over the foundation. Keep bouncing it to spread the foundation.
Step 3:
Dot some concealor on problem areas with the pointy side of the sponge.
Step 4:
With the pointy side, blend the cocnealor into the nooks and crannies of the area. I love this side of the sponge as it really lets me get great application on my under-eyes and the sides of my nose.
Step 5:
With the round side, bounde the sponge gently over the concealor to blend it into the foundation.

How and how often do you clean the sponge? How long do you usually use it before throwing it away?

Very cool tutorial, thanks!
I thought the sponge was supposed to be used while slightly damp. I'll try the dry method too.
I've only used mine once and it's stained too!

Hey anonymous: I clean it every other night and I make sure to squeeze it out and I lay it out to dry at night. I have had mine for over 2 months and haven't needed to throw it away just yet.
Hey saloni: THIS is why i love ysl effet faux cils. it's also not that dramatic right now, but i can really build the volume with the ysl mascara.
hey anonymous: that's sweet but oh,... if only...
hey anonymous:
I do use it slightly damp but I can use it this way too. Depending ont he finish and look, I calibrate the dampness of my sponge :)

Stumbled onto your blog and will be buying the Sonia Kashuk sponge (among other things) when I visit Target :)
It's hard to find good makeup sites for indians or people with darker skintones so *loves* Your posts are incredibly useful!
I was wondering if you'd ever be interested in making a post for essential makeup from local drugstores.
While I'll spend money freely on foundation and powder (Estee Lauder Double Wear to loose the shine since I'm in a shiny yellow-gold!biscuit and Prescriptives color match, blended specifically for my skin tone), for everything else I steer clear of Seohora, MAC et all for budget reasons.
So I was wondering what the best budget!buys would be in your opinion, when in comes to eyebrows, cheeks and blemishes (acne/birthmarks etc.). Oh and essential budget!brushes/applicators (or if MAC is the best for brushes, the top 2 brushes perhaps?)
I want to try to do more than just foundation, concealer, powder and eyeliner but I'm not sure where to start. I guess so far my desi!genes only show in mmy need for eyeliner for all pccasions, lol.
