Nicole Kidman's Make-up (Eyes)

I have been struggling with the software to show you the step by step application so I'm just going to do it in sections. Yes, I graduated but I am still as unsavvy as ever when it comes to computers.

Start with a clean face and apply foundation and concealor wherever needed. This is the look we're going for:

Make-up Used:

  • MAC Brun eyeshadow
  • MAC Canton Candy paint
  • Nars All About Eve
  • Shu Uemura ME 850
  • MAC Carbon eyeshadow
  • L'Oreal Telescopic mascara

Tools Used:
  • MAC 239
  • MAC 222
  • Scott Barnes Brow Brush
  • Art Brush for eyeliner

Step 1:
Dip the brow brush into the Brun eyeshadow and fill in brows with short, feathery strokes. Emphasize the shape of the brows and don't go beyond the natural shape of your brows.

Step 2:
Apply Canton Candy all over the lid up to the brows to form a base for your eyeshadow.

Step 3:
Apply the matte shade from the All About Eve duo from the lash line to all the way under the brows.

Step 4:
Define your crease with the ME 850 shadow. Apply the shadow from the inner corner all the way out and blend into the lid. The crease should be defined but very light at the same time.

Step 5:
Line eyes with Carbon, staying really close to the lash line on the top lid and thicken the line as your get to the outer third of the eye. Line the outer third of your bottom lid and keep the line thin.

Step 6:
Maximize lashes with two coats of mascara on top and bottom lashes.

Coming up Tomorrow

Alright, so now I can finally say most of my issues are in the past and I can finally get started on updating and emailing properly. I will have a couple of tutorials up tomorrow and a few reviews. You know, overload you with a deluge of posts to make up for my lack of participation in the past couple of months. Let me know if you have any requests. I'll do my best to get to them right away.

Clinique Double Fudge Lipstick: A Great Fall Staple

I know I've said it before but I am truly back with some amazing news: I'm graduating and I passed my comprehensive exams. The two longest yeas of my life have finally come to fruition. For the moment anyway and I am graduating. So to celebrate I'm posting about one of my favourite lipsticks for the fall.

Clinique's Double Fudge lipstick is a smooth, light lipstick that doesn't have a typical heavy lipstick feel. I've always been a fan of Clinique's lipsticks and feel they're very underrated. Double Fudge has a subtle sheen and no real smell that I can detect and it always seems to keep my lips fairly moisturized. I can sheer out the lipstick to get a very nice clay stain or layer it to get a medium-to-full coverage lipstick.

The best thing about this lipstick is the ease with which I can wear the colour. I you're interested in a subtle but deeper fall colour, then I really recommend you try this one. It's darker than your typical nudes and it's got more red to bring a certain drama. Because you can sheer it out or create more intensity I think it would look beautiful on a lot of skintones and would compliment desi skin really well. To me, this is (one) of my new favourite fall lipsticks that is a must have right now.

Furthering My Sally Hansen Obsession: Your Skin Make-up Foundation

Granted I don't wear foundation but once in a while I like to get dressed up or I have a skin crisis. This is where I have realized I should put my anti-foundation sentiments aside and try out different foundations. As you might know, I am an equal opportunity make-up junkie and recently fell in love with the pressed powder from the same Natural Beauty line. The liquid foundation is in my opinion even better and gives the most gorgeous, natural looking finish.

The foundation comes in a pump bottle so it already has points working in its favour. It is a medium to full coverage foundation and I've found that I barely need half a pump to cover my entire face. The finish is a soft, radiant glow that doesn't make my face look like it is melting.
The foundation doesn't seem to settle anywhere but I don't have that problem yet.

The colour choices are a bit limited and I found it difficult to gauge which shade would best suit my skin because of the glass bottle. I had to exchange the shade I had initially picked out so beware the way the colour looks in the bottle is deceptive.

The performance and look of the foundation is exceptional. I wore it early in the morning and ten hours and a lot of activity later the foundation was still on my skin. My skin is sensitive, goes from dry to oily, and is very acne prone. I didn't have any breakout issues in the entire month that I've been testing out this product.

The best thing about this foundation is the application. I've found that using my fingers brings out the most natural, traceless, luminous finish from an already exceptional foundation. Run, don't walk, to your closest drugstore to find your match in this line because to me this is ridiculously priced for the amazing product it is.
