My Newest Obsession: The Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Line Inspired by Carmindy

Yes it's been a while but I just got done with a huge test that I was preparing for, well, two long years. Keep your fingers crossed for me. While I wait not-so-eagerly for my test results let me tell you about the newest gems that I am in love with. I know I was MIA for a loooong while but I will respond to my emails and requests starting tomorrow. Thanks for bearing with me.

Sally Hansen Luminous Matte Pressed Powder

I've worn this down to nothing. Yes ladies and gentleladies, I have been using this pressed powder for a while and I am almost close to finishing the product. This pressed powder is incredibly natural looking and velvety smooth on application. As contradictory as the name sounds, luminous matte that is, the product lives up to the name. The powder gives medium coverage which you can sheer out if needed. The look I get is a sophisticated matte which doesn't make my skin look dry and actually looks like skin.

The powder lasts throughout the day and doesn't look cakey and doesn't seem to settle anywhere either. In fact it lasted through a long, very warm day and it was still traceably present at the end of the day. The products I have tried so far from the Sally Hansen Natural Beauty line have really exceeded my expectations and rank above some of the other lines I use (If you're willing to bear the controversy of it all, I prefer this line over MAC and Lancome at the moment).

You never told us what happened with your acne experimentation! Not that I'm saying to put pictures up, but I'm just curious as to what happened and what you used to clear it up.

As a side note, I finally went to the dermatologist and he gave me a combo of a retinoid and a second benzyl peroxide prescripts and it works pretty well. The tricky part is, figuring out how often to use it because too much = dry skin, and too little = still a production of acne.

By the way the sufur that you reccomended to me earlier is supposed to work like a benzyl peroxide product, just maybe not as strong?

Wow ! It feels good to know some one loves a drugstore product more than MAC.I am kinda tired of seeing looks made only from MAC products and reviewing them endlessly :p

Sally Hansen is really stepping up its game ! First it was the lip lab collection and now this line ! I am one happy drug store shopper !

Hi Anu,
Glad to see you back on. Good luck with the exam!

What shade of the Sally Hansen powder do you use?

I am currently using the Sally Hansen Healing Beauty Foundation liquid in Mocha. I really love it.. It has a yellow undertone, rather than a pink undertone (I am a MAC NC 45)and gives very good coverage. It stays on all day as well. I read a review of it once that compared it to Giorgio Armani's luminous foundation. I have not used the G. A. foundation, so I can't confirm that however.

Thanks

Hey, as long as you like the product, who cares the brand, right? I do get tired of the price of MAC, and having to drive to the mall to purchase it. It's nice to know there's a reasonable alternative!

Hey Anu, just thought I'd share my experience with the Sally Hansen line. I bought the Sally Hansen Natural Beauty creme blush in Blossom - it's a structly okay product. Kind of like tinted lip balm. The color is way too sheer to show up on Indian skin and it tends to accentuate skin imperfections - just like any oily product would. And I suspect that it might have caused my recent acne breakout though it could be due to another product.

Just wanted to share this with your readers. I am hoping to try out a few more SH Natural Beauty products so still optimistic :) Thanks for writing this blog - you are a huge inspiration!

what shade did you end up selecting for the pressed powder & foundation? Have you tried the blushes or the lip products? I've been looking up reviews at MUA but so far they are somewhat limited esp. for desi skin tones.
