Make-up From the Sartorialist's Visit to India

I had a request for this look that was featured on the Sartorialist (always an awesome read by the way) and I have to add that whoever the person is in the pic pulled off the look so effortlessly. By far one of my favourite looks.

Recommended Products:

  • Tinted moisturizer, translucent powder, and concealor of your choice
  • MAC Photogravure Technakohl liner
  • Vasanti Magic World Eye and Cheek Putty
  • MAC Harmony. This and MAC's Sculpt and Shape are my go-to for contouring. Harmony makes an amazing contour on the cheeks.
  • MAC Stud
  • L'Oreal Panoramic Curl mascara
  • NARS Heatwave lipstick. This is an incredibly fitting lipstick for this look I think.

Face:
This look requires your skin to look natural and as unmade-up as possible. Apply an eye cream of your choice and apply a light tinted moisturizer instead of a foundation. If needed, cover up any problem areas with a concealor that matches your skintone. Set with a thin dusting of translucent powder.

Eyes:
The eyes are very subtle and I really doubt she's wearing any eyeshadow. Instead, tap on a highlighter like Magic World sheerly on your lids and a bit on your brow bone. Remember to keep it sheer and soft.

Brows:
This simple look really requires the brows to be groomed. Pluck away any stray hairs but be sure to keep the brows as full as possible. Enhance your brows with the Stud eyebrow pencil using short feathery strokes.

Liner:
If you know how to tightline, I would recommend doing that (I'll have a tutorial up of this soon). If not, line your top lid with Photogravure and keep the liner as thin and as close to the top lash line as possible.

Mascara:
Apply a coat of the L'Oreal Panoramic Curl mascara to the top lashes. Without dipping the wand in more mascara, use the remainder on your bottom lashes.

Cheeks:
Again, it looks like she's not wearing anything and is just blessed with great cheekbones (how do I send her hatemail?). If you would like to have some definition, you can contour your cheeks with a shade like the Harmony blush. I will have a highlighting/contouring tutorial of the whole face up soon if that helps. Meanwhile, I have a badly photographed contouring tutorial under the tutorial section.

Lips:
With a lip brush, carefully outline your lips with the Heatwave lipstick. Then, go in and fill lips with the same lipstick.
