Bobbi Brown's Raspberry

As you might know, my big weakness is blush. If you make it bright and it goes on my cheeks (the ones on my face mind you), I'll probably be making a beeline for the blush. So it comes as no surprise that I absolutely adore Bobbi Brown's semi-new pot rouge in Raspberry.

This is a gorgeous, wearable deep raspberry colour with blue undertones. The texture feels creamier than the other pot rouges, but that might just be my imagination. I find that the texture of Bobbi's pot rouges are different than my other cream blushes as I find the consistency thicker somehow. A really good tip for applying pot rouges or cream blushes in general is to dot it on to the apple of your cheeks and buff it in with a brush like the MAC 109. This gives me an amazing, lit from within, natural glow.

As for how the colour suits desi skintones, I adore how it brightens up my eyes and chases away any tiredness or sallowness that I have. It has the right amount of deepness in colour as brightness to suit a wide range of desi skintones. I think fair and darker skintones could pull this off with ease, although I love it particularly for darker skintones.

Another good thing about this blush is its versatility. On the lips, it isn't a bright barbie pink (which pink raspberry is on me, hence I usually usethat one solely as blush) and is deep enough in colour to not look like a neon lipstick version of raspberry. I do find it fairly drying so I like to moisten my lips with lip balm first.

    Hi anu,
question! I have a daker desi skintone. For my lips, should I use Rasberry or pink rasberry?

And for my cheeks which one would suit me better?
    thanks!

    Hey anonymous:
for lips, i definitely recommend raspberry. the pink raspberry looks a bit bright neon on the lips if i'm not careful. as for cheeks, i love using both. i am an n45 and i think the raspberry would look gorgeous on the cheeks. you could try the pink rapsberry but i don't think it is as versatile for darker skintones.

    Hi Anu,
    Thanks! That’s helpful feedback!

Just one more thing…I have a few scars from teenage acne on my cheeks. Do you think it’s advisable to wear blush at all? I am kind of paranoid that the blush only brings focus onto my scars rather than giving me a warm glow….

i was quite curious about these lovely bb colors. WHenever you do an installment of blushes next time, can you please include this one? And also, I really suck at apply cream blush. I tried to do it like in your tutorial but my brush was really stiff? i used the same one you did but i just cant gte it. ilove the way the technique made it show up tho
    !
    good job anu
    keep up the good work

hey anonymous: if your have a bit of hyperpigmentation left i recommend using a concealor, blending it, and topping it with powder. if they are pitted scars, i have a couple and what i do is just to powder so that the blush stays on long and apply the blush. overly shimmery products attract attention to it but this is fine.

oh khamila, this one is beatiful! it's great for darker skintones and it makes an amazing lippie too. i have another tutorial for blush (which is easier than with the foundation brush) and i will post that soon.
